69 Padres Cap
I see American Needle has a '69 Pads cap with orange lettering. Looking back at old photos and baseball cards seems to supprot the orange coloring, but most of everything I read about this hat says the "SD" should be gold/yellow. What did the team actually wear?

The Cooperstown Ballcap Co, who make the best hats I have ever had on my head... (My 1944 St. Louis Browns Home hat is incredible) well....they show the letters being YELLOW.
www.ballcap.com Want a LEATHER band like they had in the old days? Just ask for it, and you will get the softest leather ever. They are pricey, but they are worth it! |

Thanks
Thanks for the info re: Padres '69. I am aware of the American Needle issues, and have an Orioles hat that really WOULD make Fred Lynn hate it.
However, I am still hoping to find out from a native San Diegan that remembers for certain what color the "SD" was as the baseball cards I have really do seem to look orange. |

OK, I get it
So after doing some more on-line searches for photos it seems pretty evident that the 69 Padres hat used yellow/gold. So what I don't get is why American Needle was approved to distribute this cap with the orange! I'm off to ballcap.com for the real deal.
