WTH Did I miss something

Ok I'll admit I wasn't at the game today nor was I watching on TV or listening on the radio. I was working and keeping tabs on the game thru MLB.com so there is a chance I didn't get some information that would make Black's decision to pinch hit in the ninth with a runner on for a batter that had already driven in 2, gone 3 for 4 and is hitting at a .327 clip(M Giles). Why he would choose to do said PH'ing with a guy whose hitting a meager .125(K Kousmanoff) and is obviously overmatched against professionals is beyond me. Someone help me out here because if those are the kinds of decisions that Black is going to make this year we are all in for a long season.
