They will make tons of money from Japan because of these deals. If they don't turn a profit from extra Japanese revenue, they will still get closer to another world championship.

EDIT: Wtf is going on?? I didn't make this topic, but it put me at the top.. It has been happening to me for a while..

Let me get this straight.50 Mil just to talk to some guy

Bosox send Japan 50 plus for the rights to sign some guy who has excelled in the Japanese league.Yankees pony up 26 for some other Japanese maybe..
WHAT??????
Next time anyone from a MLB front office talks about the difficulty in turning a profit they should be sent to Elba.
Evidently there are no hurlers in the USA that are on a par with these Japanese phenoms .
Color me kookie but let's see, 75 plus just to be able to buy these two a Kobe ( ps for anyone unaware the Laker Kobe Bryant was named after Kobe beef)steak then another 75 if you are "lucky enough to sign them "and viola you have two maybes tying up a fortune for anywhere from 4 to 6 years. I have to believe that kind of geedus could be used to develop multiple young arms at a far higher return , but big deal I guess we'll just spend 8 bucks for a hot dog next year and maybe a 10 dollar Saki

Man, have you been under a rock for the last month? Hahahaha....that's pretty much what half of the discussions on this site have been about, Matsuzaka. Add on top of that the Yanks paid 24 million to talk to Igwa, the lefty, who's either going to be in the back end of the rotation or in the bullpen, from what I've heard at least.

Later

Ken
