I dont think that's how the Phils lineup is gonna be....I think if Coste is playing he'll bat behind Rowand, who, I think, will bat behind Burrell, and if Ruiz is playing and Helms is also, I'd say Helms will bat before Ruiz, and if Nunez and Coste are playing, Coste infront of Nunez, and if it's Ruiz and Nunez then it will most likely be Ruiz then Nunez.

This is how I think the Phillies lineup should look, but Charlie most likely wont draw it up like this.

Victorino
Rowand or Nunez, I'd like to see them give him a shot in the second hole
Utley
Howard
Rollins
Burrell
Rowand/Coste/Helms
Nunez/Ruiz/helms
Pitcher

Edit.....How did this make it to the first post in the tread, ahead of the first post made by the thread poster? wierd.

Post your team's projected lineup

What do you guys think each of your team's (or any team's) lineup will look like next year? Feel free to speculate all you want about trades and signings, let's make this interesting.

My ideal lineup for the Nationals:

1. Felipe Lopez, 2B
2. Nick Johnson, 1B
3. Ryan Zimmerman, 3B
4. Austin Kearns, RF
5. Kory Casto, LF
6. Brian Schneider, C
7. Alex Escobar (Nook Logan once Escobar is injured, it's a given), CF
8. Christian Guzman, SS
9. John Patterson, P

OR

1. Felipe Lopez, 2B
2. Alex Escobar (Nook Logan once Escobar is injured, it's a given), CF
3. Ryan Zimmerman, 3B
4. Nick Johnson, 1B
5. Austin Kearns, RF
6. Kory Casto, LF
7. Brian Schneider, C
8. Christian Guzman, SS
9. John Patterson, P

I can't really decide which lineup I like better...I guess it depends on how Escobar/Logan do in Spring Training. Also, Church will be a good left hander off the bench, and he has potential, but do they move someone (Casto?) out of LF or CF for him? He can't hit breaking balls, he strikes out too much, but he has so much potential and a good OPS for when he's played. Hmmmm.....keep him on the bench....for now (aka until Escobar gets injured and Nook Logan bats .250 in center).

I think this lineup might actually have some really good potential, if they can stay healthy. We shall see.

So let's talk about some other lineups, what are they gonna be looking like?

Possible Met lineups, if they sign Lugo

1. Jose Reyes SS
2. Paul Lo Duca C
3. Carlos Beltran CF
4. Carlos Delgado 1B
5. David Wright 3B
6. Moises Alou LF
7. Shawn Green/Lastings Milledge platoon RF
8. Julio Lugo 2B
9. P

Or the same lineup there but swith Lo Duca and Lugo so that Lo Duca is batting 8th and Lugo 2nd. Milledge may start in the minors so he may not platoon with Green in right.

Endy Chavez could also start numerous games at both corner outfield spots because Alou and Green may need lots of rests cause they're old.

1. Curtis Granderson, CF
2. Placido Polanco, 2B
3. Carlos Guillen, SS
4. Magglio Ordonez, RF
5. Gary Sheffield, DH
6. Pudge Rodriguez, C
7. Sean Casey, 1B
8. Craig Monroe, LF
9. Brandon Inge, 3B

You could switch around the 3, 6 and 7 spot but that's a general idea.

1.CFamon
2.SS:Jeter
3.RF:Abreu
4.DH:Giambi
5.3B:Rodriguez(More RBI chances)(the pitcher will be worn out after pitching to Abreu and Giambi)
6.LF:Matsui
7.C:Posada
8.2B:Cano
9.1B:Johnson

I have a strong fealing that Nick Johnson will get traded to the Yankees. The 6,7,8 spots are all interchangealbe depending on who is hot.

Reading the GM and Manager in the Chicago papers, here's how the Cubs' line up seems to be shaping up:

Alphonso Soriano, CF
Mark DeRosa, 2B
Derrick Lee, 1B
Aramis Ramirez, 3b
Jacques Jones, RF
Matt Murton, LF
Michael Barrett,C
Cesar Izturis, SS
Carlos Zamabrano, P

Here's the lineup I like better:

Ryan Theriot, 2B
Matt Murton, LF
Derrick Lee, IB
Aramis Ramirez, 3B
Alphonso Soriano, CF
Jacques Jones/Mark DeRosa RF
Michael Barrett, C
Cesar Izturis, SS
Carlos Zambrano, P

twins batting:

1. 2B Luis Castillo
2. 3B Nick Punto
3. C Joe Mauer
4. RF Michael Cuddyer
5. 1B Justin Morneau
6. CF Torii Hunter
7. DH... probably a free agent
8. RF... either Jason Kubel, Lew Ford, Josh Rabe, or my favorite, Jason Tyner
9. SS Jason Bartlett

pitching:
1. Johan Santana
2. Boof Bonser or free agent
3. Boof Bonser or free agent
4. Matt Garza
5. Carlos Silva

they also might start Glen Perkins or Kevin Slowey sometime if Silva/Garza aren't doing good.

2B Willy Aybar
SS Edgar Renteria
3B Chipper Jones
CF Andruw Jones

The worst thing that could happen would be as follows:

2B Willy Aybar
SS Edgar Renteria
C Brian McCann
3B Chpper Jones
1B Adam LaRoche
RF Jeff Francoeur
LF Matt Diaz/Kelly Johnson
CF Ryan Langerhans

Orioles:
Brian Roberts 2B
Nick Markakis RF
Miguel Tejada SS
Carlos Lee LF
Melvin Mora 3B
Jay Gibbons DH
Corey Patterson CF
Ramon Hernandez C
Kevin Millar 1B

I think thats a pretty good lineup. Alot will depend on our young pitching staff. Also we really need to get Carlos Lee. If we don't I think Tejada might be traded (and I don't really like the idea of it at all).

Nick Johnson is not going to be traded to the Yankees, unless the Nats get some REALLY good guys in return. We're depending on Nick for a big year, and we don't have much behind him for first base. I think he's staying with us, at least for this year. I sure hope so.

And I just realized...the Nats lineup might get DECIMATED by left handers this year. Ouch.

Eckstein SS
Free Agent Outfielder (Please no Preston Wilson or Taguchi paltoon with Duncan!!!)
Pujols 1B
Rolen 3B
Edmonds CF
Encarnacion RF
Free Agent 2B (Belliard?)
Molina C
Carpenter

Reyes is the only other starter signed at this point, so we might have to pitch Carpenter every day!!

Wainwright to close until Izzy comes back, and then Wainwright might (read will) move to the rotation.... especially if one of the starters is struggling. Considering the Cardinals silence on players like Zito, Schmidt, and Matsusaka... I think the Cards will look for more Marquis/Suppan/Weaver caliber free agents. Dave Duncan has had good success with these types of players (Woddy Williams, and the three mentioned above).

In other words, of them will be struggling when Izzy comes back, forcing Wainwright to the rotation.

St Louis Cardinals

SS Eckstein
LF (FA Roberts, FA Gonzo, platoon, ?)
1B Pujols
3B Rolen
CF Edmonds
RF (trade Enc, platoon, ?)
2B (trade for Giles, FA Durham, FA Kennedy, FA Belliard, ?)
C Molina

Batting order could change depending who we get to fill 2B and both corner OFs. Maybe Speez will be more of a regular player, maybe a regular roaming platoon player. Need SP as well, probably sign FA Weaver. Need a solid 1-2 punch. Maybe Wainwright to become a SP w/ Izzy healthy.

Who knows how this will turn out. Stay tuned...

Yes unfortunatley thats what they said last year about our lineup. And the year before that. And the year before that. Frankly, the Yankee fan is getting impatient.
