Giambi-Weaver Trade?

I know the Angels need a big bat in their lineup to compete and we need pitching. This trade would solve both of our problems. Does it make sense for the Angels?

Well, there is just one big problem with this trade -- Giambi's contract. Giambi's contract is the following: 07:$21M, 08:$21M, 09:$22M club option ($5M buyout). I say the Angels just sign a hitter (like Aubrey Huff) and keep Weaver...

If the Giambi-Weaver occures,it will be because the Yankees will pay a part of his immense contract

Hell I'd be all for paying ALL of Gimabis contract for the next two seasons if it brings in Jerod Weaver.

Well said, even as a Yankee fan I see that trade as udderly ridiclous.

No. I'm sure the only Yankee player the Angels would be interested in is ARod. The Yankees need to use ARod to get pitching.

I know, everyone assumes that Angels are quick to give up on their talented pitching to get a aging hitter that no one else needs. The Angels have talked very little about giving up thier frontline starters.

I don't think there's anyone on the Yanks the Angels would trade Weaver straight up for.

I find that hard to believe, when most experts don't feel the Cubs would deal Zambrano for A-Rod. No team is going to trade the best young pitcher in baseball for a 30 year A-Rod, esp. the way his '06 season went.

I don't think there is any way that the Angels would trade Weaver for an aging inconsistent slugger like Giambi.

For that go out and get an Aubrey Huff or Aramis Ramirez.
