I was actually right about something

I don't hit too many things on the head, but watching Big Frank Thomas today against the Twinkies only reminded me of how badly I wanted the Tribe to sign him last offseason. Instead...we got Eduardo Perez.

Perez was pretty damned good in the platoon role with Broussard, at least for half the season.

Put it this way: did you sign Hurt to your fantasy team? How about Thome? Betcha didn't.

Its like all of the people who wanted the Indians to get Thome from the Phillies - where would Thomas have played? We already have a DH and last i checked you can't start two at one time.

Nah ... the Tribe started 2 or 3 DHs all the time this season.

They weren't all at DH in the same game. Just saying, we had 2 or 3 DHs in our lineup most of the year.

One of them was at Catcher and the other was at 1B.

Actually, I had Thome and Hurt, traded Thome in late June for Hurt and Wang.

Ok - perhaps i wasn't clear enough.

You can only start one player at the position of DH per game.

I didn't have either, as I only have Cubs and Indians on my fantasy team. I know, I 'm one of these wackos who only wants guys he can cheer for on his team. At any rate, Thome would have been too much cash, but Big Frank only signed for 500K. For that kind of cash, he may have been the bargain of the year.

And he was

To a team who needed a DH.

the Indians already had one, and couldn't affoard to take up a bench spot with Thomas, so bargain or not i really don't see where he would have fit on the Indians....
