7 straight wins...
Man, how much more dramatic can this season be?
If we do manage to grab the division, this would easily rival last year's 15-30 comeback in the "improbable/surely impossible" department. 79-78.

This would be better than last year. Before yesterdays game, BP had their postseason odds at about 3%, and i just had an article published telling people not to get worked up because the odds of them making it are very unlikely...
I have a feeling i could be getting some letters soon. ![]() |

Everyone talks about the 2005 turnaround from 15-30 (actually, the club was 15 under two games later at 16-31, but 15-30 is an easier record for most to remember). That was indeed impressive, but the Astros did have 115 or so games to work with over 3½ months. and they ended up needing every last one of those 115 games.
But the 2004 turnaround, in my opinion, was far more impressive. Houston was 61-62 on Aug 22 that year, then went 31-8 the rest of the way to finish with 92 wins and take the wildcard on the final day. That ranks #1 in my mind as far as this team goes. If they can do it this year, then 2006 will replace 2004 atop the charts, not 2005. |
