Pronk out - broken hand

I have nothing good to say about this. He was the first player I drafted in my fantasy team this year, and my second pick last year.

I also have Manny, who is day-to-day.

Poop.

Anyway, I guess this is good news for the Chi Sox. Maybe the kids can still wreck their playoff hopes, anyway.

Wait a minute! Just a few days ago the news was that Hafner's hand was x-rayed and his hand was ok. Just as I started the fantasy baseball playoffs I lose Hafner!

Just when a season gets bad, now it got worse for the Indians. Their chances of a winning season now is nigh. Now how will the Indians put up runs now?

Yeah - my first week of fantasy playoffs is just ending, and I have a slim lead.

I went and got Garko and Rocco Baldelli. That's about all that was left in the FA pool. And I basically replaced Manny with some kid from Texas, so there ya go.

What's even more infuriating is that Yahoo hasn't put Pronk on the DL, so I have to release a player to get another one, and Pronk is on the "can't cut" list, of course. Not that I wanted to cut him, but that's what the DL is for, if you can use it.

At least I have some pitching.

As for my REAL team, we have some kids who can hit, but we're facing teams that are desparate to win, like Chicago, Minnesota and Oakland. Having Pronk makes all the difference in the world against teams like that. You simply cannot replace him in the lineup.

Well overlooking the obvious significence to fantasy baseball - this is actually a mixed blessing to the Tribe. Kouz will get ABs he would be hard pressed to get otherwise, and Shoppach will see more time at catcher as Martinez should be DHing more...

more importantly its going to put more pressure on the other players to have to step up - Garko hitting cleanup is interesting....

so even though it hurts to lose Hafner, freeing up his ABs is probably one of the better things to happen to this team for the rest of this season
