KC Fans

I really appreciate good fans like KC fans. Not intentionally bashing your team, but for the last few years they have been....well...... bad. But the fans in KC still support their team, and that deserves alot of credit. I always love it when KC wins (Unless they play the Yankees), because i used to like KC when they had Bo Jackson (The greatest athlete of my time IMO) and lets not forget KC's triple A used to be here in Memphis (born and raised) The Memphis Chicks. So i have a lil bit of love for the Royals.

Go Yanks

Thanks. I've been a Royals fan since when I was 9 years old, listening on the radio to the games in their first season. I've been high with the highs, and low with the lows. But even in the midst of their big losing streaks, when I find myself upset...I still watch...and hope...and cheer when they finally come through. I don't understand fans who cheer for a team because they won a lot of games...or because it's cool, or because they're "America's Team" and on TV all the time.

On a secondary note: If I'm not mistaken, the Memphis Chicks were the Royals AA affiliate, not AAA. Their AAA affiliate has always been in Omaha (Royals/Golden Spikes), and their current AA affiliate is the Wichita Wranglers.

That's right AA.

The Chicks were only associated with the Royals for a few years when Avram Fogleman was a part owner of the club. The Chicks has a long history of being a redbird farm club.

The first professional game I ever went to (50+ years ago) was a Chicks game.

I used to go to some Wilmington Blue Rocks games a year. They have now since become a redsox A ball team.

years ago, the Chicks were a long time white sox farm..playing in a great downtown park..called russwood...until it was destroyed in a 6 alarm blaze
easter 1960....When the Chicks came back in the 1970's, they were part
of the EXPOS..then Kansas City..and AA..playing at crappy Tim McCarver
stadium..which was basically a american legion park, that got upgraded
and not very well...saw a lot of games there..being only a few blocks from
my apt at the time...walked over..and saw a lot of games...with some of
the Royals young players..Finally, the chicks, as we knew 'em..moved to
Jackson, TN..became the west TN diamond JAXX..AA of the CUBS....

AAA ball returned to elvis central...and with a smashing new park
in the heart of downtown Memphis...AUTOZONE...with the parent
Cardinals...now only if St.Louis, can upgrade their farm system...

in any event, I love AA and AAA ball...especially in towns like Memphis !
