Aubrey Huff

Astros fans should be happy to know that Aubrey Huff is the newest member of the Houston Astros. The Astros agreed to send two minor leaguers to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays for Huff and a sum of cash.

Aubrey Huff should be a huge factor for the Astros run towards the NL Wild Card and NL Central Division in the second half. Huff, who has eight homers so far in 2006, started very slow for Tampa Bay and has missed a large portion of time due to injury. Huff has been playing 3B for the Rays in 2006, but can also play first and a corner outfield spot. A few years ago Huff led the Devil Rays in homeruns with 31 and was one considered one of the top young hitters in the game. Astros fans should hope Huff can regain his All Star form in Hoston because he could be a difference maker in their quest for the playoffs.

so...that means that this is the new defensive alignement:

C: Ausmus/Munson
1B: Berkman/Lamb
2B: Biggio/Burke
SS: Everett/Burke
3B: Ensberg/Lamb
CF: Taveras
LF Wilson/Lane
RF: Huff/Lane

Lane is a bench player now.

Hey all-just found this forum-glad to talk to some Astros fans again...
He looked pretty good at 3rd tonight-and not bad going yard in his first game off of Willis-it's about time we found another legit left-handed hitter...

Huff will see most of his time at 3rd base unless Ensberg start to hit again otherwise Ensberg is in a platoon situation at best.

Aubrey is pretty darn awesome, and a nice lefty addition to our lineup.

I'm curious - who did we give up in the acquisition?

Two pitching prospects.

Or maybe one pitcher and an infielder
