The March into Night

Our long march into "that good night" continues unabated. We hire a new GM with all the fanfare associated with discovering the Holy Grail and before all the hubbub dies down from the press conference announcing his arrival, discover he isn't savvy enough or have enough clout to restore the press credentials of two flunky radio sports journalists.

Combine this with the brilliance of drafting a Scott Boras client with the #1 pick in the draft without an agreement in place to get him signed.

And sending down Costa to bring up Robinson is just lunacy.

What happened with the press credentials or what story did they give? I heard on a sports talk show that the Royals were upset with the two reporters because of their negative stories. Did it turn into more of a story or an embarrassment than they thought it would?

They were not upset with anything these two had done prior to the press conference. They felt two were abrasive and combative at the press conference as well as adding unflattering commentary along with their questions. I didn't hear the press conference so I don't know. One of the two's boss has pretty much thrown his guy under the bus. But the guy works for the station that has the Royals radio rights so there may be another agenda at work here.
