Conceding?

Does anyone else feel like some of the players on The Indians as of today could be gone by July, 31st? Belliard, Boone, Wickman, Blake ....

I heard somewhere, may have been Peter Gammons, that if The Indians are way out of it come July, Shapiro is thinking conceding, letting go of some players and looking towards next year.

What do you all think?

All I really know is that they are Cleveland is not rocking right now .... they are Sucking! Bad! It's hard to watch at this point.

I know its terrible. Saying its "terrible" is maybe acceptable. But for a kid who'ed been in the forum for about 8 hours to come into a Indians forum, while dragging around a White Sox banner, and saying they "suck"??? Its kind of disrespectful, unless he lives in Cleveland which I doubt.

Its almost as bad as boo'ing Jim Thome at Jacobs, Jimmys as classy an act as has ever played the game.

While not killing us as much as the Tribe, defense and pitching is hurting the White Sox as well. If we dont straighten out there's no way were going to repeat.

The defense is a focal point, but the bullpen is easily the difference between this year and last so far.

We miss Howry (no contract offer), and believe it or not, Riske and Arthur Rhodes too -- not this year's versions, but last year's. Matt Miller was gone by the end of April due to surgery. Wick is another story.

We were the luckiest team in baseball last year, healthwise and pitching-wise, and are not lucky this year.

We sure have given up a lot of unearned runs, though. It's ugly. I would be happy if Vic never caught another game, but what do you do with him? We already have the best DH in baseball.

I totally disagree. You buy a ticket, you have the right to boo. Not insult a guys family, not yell obscenities, but Boo. I'm fine with it. Thome is a big boy, he opted for the cash grab, he can take a little booing. THat being said, Boone and Wickman should be on the block. The party is over for this year, get ready for Marte and Carmona to assume their positions in '07. Plus, Broussard's stock is as high as it's ever going to get. Dump him, move Victor to first next year, and let's see what Shoppach can do. Don't mess with Grady and Pronk (obviously), Peralta, Belliard, CC, Jake, & Lee. I'm on the fence about Byrd. Blake could go, if you get the right offer.
