Hoffman Passes Sutton
Today against the Rockies, Trevor Hoffman pitched his 775th career game, passing Don Sutton for 37th all time. Hoffman needs three more to pass Gaylord Perry for 36th all time.

Hoffman is probably one of the more underrated closers in baseball (except to Padres fans), due to the Padres lackluster records in previous seasons. He is as good as they come, even at his age, because he only has one devastating pitch. He should close 40+ this year and break the record early next season.
Go Hoffman

Of course, he's still 4400 innings behind Sutton in actual work.

That's true but funny KCGHOST. Hoffman may be as underrated as any star in MLB history. Hall of Famer?
GHOST,I didn't see your answer to KCfan12's latest thread about Dayton Moore. I think he must be a very young kid.Quote:

I have tended to ignote kcfan12's threads because all he does is ask for the opinions of others without expressing his own.

I noticed your aggrevation at the way he starts threads.
HHank- I think KCGHOST was making a point that even though they pitched in the same amount of games,It's much more of a feat to do it as a starter....I think! Quote:

I know I'm just a newbie on this site, even a newbie to the NL, EVEN a newbie to loving Trevor Hoffman, but once Hell's Bells starts, it's game over.
Hoffman for the Cy Young: 20IP 16Ks 12 for 12 in save situations 1.35 ERA.
