Chris Booker

The ever alert Royals claimed Chris Booker, 29, off the waiver wire. Seemed like a reasonable thing to do. He supposedly throws hard, throws strikes, and doesn't yield HR's. Or at least he did as a minor leaguer. So the Budster runs him into a real game and in one inning he gives up 3HR's, 3BB's, and 6 earned runs. He had one previous cup of coffee in the bigs. Last year he pitched two innings for the Reds and gave up 2 HR's, 4 BB's and 7 earned runs. That totals 3IP's for 5HR's, 7BB's and 13 earned runs. Only one other pitcher in ML history who had a career of less than 5IP's has allowed as many as 13 earned runs.

And the funny part of this is that after his debut he injured himself and is now on the 15 day DL. They called up Joe Nelson. Who is Joe Nelson you ask?? Why he is the other pitcher in ML history who has given up 13 earned runs in a career of less than 5IP's.
