Congrats to Mike Napoli

Today he became only the third Angel to homer in his first-ever ML at-bat today in the Angels' win over the Tigers. The other two were Don Rose and Dave Machemer, who both did it in the 70s. And to think that just last night, he was called up from Salt Lake to replace the struggling Jeff Mathis.

SIDE NOTE: Tommy Murphy went 2-for-4 and he had his first-ever RBI, and the bottom of the order (Kotchman, Kendrick, Napoli, and Murphy) went 5-for-15 and drove in 4 runs. Always nice to see the young players make an immediate impact.

What happens with the Angels the next few weeks may be interesting Bill Stoneman has somes decesions. Kotchman has always been a slow starter he hit barely over 200 in April last year in Triple A than followed that up by hitting well over 350 the next two monthes. Mathis on the other hand believed his spot on the roster and as the future Angel catcher was secure but how things change overnight. Where is Kendrick going to play? He should be in the lineup every night. Where will McPherson fit in?
