Grady signs six year deal

The Tribe locked up Grady Sizemore for six years today.

I feel like having a party.

Six years with a team option for the next year. I haven't seen the financial terms yet, but locking a guy up through his first two years of free agency saves a lot of aggravation.

I snuck on the school library computer during lunch and about gave myself away with a yell of delight. This makes Hafner, Sabathia, Martinez, Peralta, and Sizemore. THAT is a core.

Party time!

I'm ecstatic. You throw Marte into that mix, and I can just see big things for the future. Shapiro is really on his game.

I am delighted in what the Indians are doing with signings of their young stars.

Should these signings mean that Cleveland should be pencilled into the spot come every October?

That's the plan.

We sure need to do better than last night. The Sox were our downfall last year. Can't let 'em be again. A rivalry would be good for this team...but in rivalries, both sides win on occasion...

The Tribe looked darn good against the Pale hose. I just hope they can take the rubber game against Seattle tonight, and three of four in Comerica this weekend.

The guys on the All-Star Selection Show on ESPN expressed pleasure that Grady played all-out and earned a spot on the All-Star team despite signing a six-year deal in spring. They sounded surprised.

That's the great thing about Grady. All-out 162 games is a given. He's slowly supplanted Hafner as the best player on the team.
