On February 17th, some 98 years ago, RED BARBER was born. RED contributed greatly to OUR BROOKLYN DODGERS. If anyone has any special story about RED, please share it with US.

Today is also the 76th birthday of ROGER CRAIG, one of OUR winning pitchers in OUR 1955 World Series. Let's wish ROGER a most happy birthday, with many more to come.

According to the book Bums, O'Malley didn't like Barber's continued friendship with Branch Rickey, and was happy to replace his $60,000 salary with Vin Scully's (then) $18,000 salary.
