Great News from Washington Times

http://www.washtimes.com/sports/2006...4608-4933r.htm

"However, club sources indicated last night they believe it's doubtful the star outfielder will sign with the Nationals. Bowden had dinner with Sosa's agent, Adam Katz, in Los Angeles, during which time he was expected to insist on a prompt decision from the 37-year-old slugger, who is mulling retirement. "

The A: No

***********My Rant on Bud Selig***********
Selig is like a stray pigeon. Pigeons are too self-absorbed to care about anyone else. They poo on people they don't like; they poo on people they don't even know. The only real difference between Selig and a pigeon is that Selig intends to bury our heritage, our traditions, and our culture,

Yes! Church must start!!

There's no way Sosa will retire, he only has to smash 12 dingers, he won't do it at RFK that's for sure

Rotoworld also points out something that I think Bowden should listen to if he is still searching for a RF to replace Guillen while he recovers from surgery:

The rumors of Richard Hidalgo going to Baltimore died down when Corey Patterson was acquired, but the Orioles could bring him in to battle Patterson and Luis Matos for two outfield spots. The Red Sox would only need him against lefties initially, and the Reds wouldn't even have a platoon role open for him. Washington would make some sense here -- Hidalgo is clearly superior to Sammy Sosa now -- but the Nationals haven't been mentioned in connection with him.

Hidalgo is still in his early 30s and still has some skill defensively unlike Sammy.

Outfielder Sammy Sosa has not decided if he will sign with the Nationals, but according to a source familiar with the slugger's thinking, Sosa wants at least $1 million to sign with the Nationals.

Washington has offered a one-year, $500,000 non-guaranteed Major League contract and the team would like Sosa to make a decision before pitchers and catchers report to Viera, Fla., on Saturday morning.
