Nats offer contract to Sosa, sign LeCroy
Sosa: http://washington.nationals.mlb.com/...=.jsp&c_id=was
LeCroy: http://washington.nationals.mlb.com/...=.jsp&c_id=was We all know who Sosa is, but a little background on LeCroy: Veteran 1B that can also play C and hit some HRs. Basically we just signed a right-handed Robert Fick.

Jimmy the Junkman, aka Bowden's Boneyard
LeCroy doesn't look a bad pick up. He's got some HR pop and walked a bit more last year. I read where he's an awful catcher and an adequate first sacker. Still, he looks like one of Bowden's spare parts. Need I say "budget" once again? The Nats could do worse. For instance, signing Sammy Sosa.

I like LeCroy, but unless he gets in better shape there is no way he squatting down behind the plate.

It's hard to see Sosa retiring right now. He's only, what, 12 home runs away from 600? He's so stuck on himself, he won't let that go so easily.

Sosa's final chance at glory ?
Quote:
time has caight up with him..he seemed to have losted bat speed while playing with the O's...among other issues..balls he used to get around on and crushed to pluto, he fouled off, or whiffed....unless he went on a total health kick etc..his numbers will suffer even more..2 million is basically pocket change to the former boy wonder of the cubbies.. hope the nats don't bite down on a sosa offer...retired with honor sammy! cripes..don't prolong the misery, any longer ![]() |
