Prices

As a kid, I never really have much money. Most packs of cards (the good ones, at least) cost $2.99. The price is outrageous! Because of this, I don't buy too many packs of cards. I do pull together enough birthday money to get a complete set, though. What's up with the high prices?

$2.99 / pack is about as cheap as packs come these days. Most cost about $4.99-$5.99.

If Target stores in your area have the $1.99 packs of 2005 Topps Updates, it's not that difficult to pull an All-Star Stitches card

Retail packs range from $0.99-$3.99 in the most part. Most are $1.99 or $2.99 still. I've pulled some great stuff out of those, including a Nolan Ryan Patch/100 that was worth $150 when I got it.

I agree though, the hobby is getting pretty expensive, but there still are some good products that don't cost a fortune out there.
