when did they start..

i recently purchased a 1951 topps baseball card and realized that there are no stats printed on the back. I was wondering what the first year was for companies to print stats on the back of the cards.

Thanx for any help
Vinny

I beleive they started putting the stats on the backs in '52.But at that time, they were only from the previos season.

I think it was around the late 60s when Topps put the year-by-year stats on the backs of the cards.

Hope this helps you out here.

The first year that Topps put year by year stats on the back of their cards was 1957.

1911

the first year was 1911. The 1911 T212-3 Obaks (PCL) and 1911 T205 Gold Borders cards have bios and career stats on the backs. Hans
