1926
In 1926, Ty Cobb was at the short end of his career. Who was the rookie in
'26 who stayed in Detroit for a year, and left for the East coast?

The only one who fits that description on the 1926 Tigers roster is Jack Warner. Yes, he had his rookie season in 1926, but he spent the entire 1927 season and half the 1928 season in Detroit before going to the Robins. (Dodgers)

Sam Gibson is the only Detroit Tiger on the 1926 roster who played for the Giants at ne time in his career, and before you go and tell me I'm wrong about that, you should double check and make sure you're right.

His career didn't start till 1928 with the Giants, he was on the team a short while, not recorded on the roster.

Giant pitcher... Hall of Famer.... Only one I can think of from that era is Carl Hubbell, but he's not listed as having been on Detroit. According to baseballlibrary.com, he went to spring training with Detroit in 1928 but Ty Cobb wouldn't let him throw his screwball, so he languished until the Giants picked him up.
