Probably around 1905. At the Hall of Fame I saw the only motion picture footage that survives of Christy Mathewson ad it may have been form the 1905 World's Series.

this book i'm looking at espn25 says that it was 1908 - by the way i'm just reading chapter two about the history of sports broadcasting - it is really rather informative - especially about why boxing was so strong

I can't say for sure, but I think 1908 was the year Honus Wagner and little Moe (Stooge)Howard made a short on how to play baseball.
