Longest game in Dodger history

How long (by hours) was the May 1, 1920 game between the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Boston Braves? And was it called a tie because of darkness?

Thanks,

Denny

According to Baseball Library, it lasted three hours and fifty minutes:

A couple of other web sites said that it was called because of darkness.

Keep in mind that in 1920 there were no lights. Also, if May 1st was a Sunday, the game started late in the afternoon because, strange as it may seem now, MLB took in consideration the fact that fans wanted to have Sunday dinner/lunch together with their families before going to the ballpark.

Not an answer, but a possible explanation.

My trusty perpetual calendar said that May 1, 1920 was a Saturday. I don't think that in 1920 either Brooklyn or Boston played Sunday games at home.
The game was called on account of darkness. I once read that Ivy Olson begged the umpire to allow one more inning so he could tell his grandchildren that he had played 3 full games in one day.
