Stadium deadlock moves to mediation

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2296063

The city and Baseball will move to a mediation phase over the lease fiasco. The article doesn't give a date the talks begin. A former Detroit mayor has been chosen as the mediator-anybody know anything about him? If no agreement is established the situation will go to binding arbitration.

What a mess.

You know the situation is bad when Detroit has to be the grown up.

***********My Rant on Bud Selig***********
Selig is like a stray pigeon. Pigeons are too self-absorbed to care about anyone else. They poo on people they don't like; they poo on people they don't even know. The only real difference between Selig and a pigeon is that Selig intends to bury our heritage, our traditions, and our culture,

Archer's Background

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...011701476.html

The Washington Post article gives background info on mediator Archer. Seems he and Mayor Williams have been fairly close. Other factors on getting the stadium bill through the city council are covered briefly. Even getting the feds in on Metro upgrades for the Navy Yard station may come into play.
