I got a weightbench, dumbbells, and barbells for my Birthday.

Does anyone have any workout routines that a 13-year-old boy can use?

Lifting weights can be dangerous at many different levels if you are not properly trained. I would suggest you either visit a physical therapist or weight training expert before you begin. I recommend resistant training - It's safer....

Well I read some Arnold Schwarzenegger books and he said it was fine for kids my age to start weight lifting. He said that instead of doing low rep high weight lifts, to do low weight high rep lifts.

That's what you would want to do anyway if you're interested in building strength rather than body building.

Well at first I wanted to be a bodybuilder, but I don't really want to shave my body hair or oil myself up.

His dad had been feeding him steroids since he was only 3 or so. Who knows what kind of physiological affects it will have on him later in life.

No joke. Physiological, psychological, chemical, developmental, neurological, societal, emotional... pretty much any and all "al's".

Weight lifting is resistance training, and it should be perfectly safe for a 13-year-old to do. There is plenty of info on proper techniques online. Just...

-don't go for single rep maximum lifts, certainly not without a spotter to help you. 8-10 reps is usually best.

-don't lift more than 3 times a week. Rest in between.

-don't take steroids.

I have a weight training set and can do well over 100 excersizes (approximately). How can I tone my middle back? And are good mornings harmful to the back? I 'am 14 and have been working out with weights for a little bit over a year.

Good mornings are not harmful to the back as long as you're not using too much weight. You should be able to do 8-12 reps comfortably. I highly recommend trying the Lying Cobra exercise; it's simple, can be done anywhere, uses no weights and there's virtually no chance of injuring your back. Lie face down on the floor and, using your back muscles, lift your shoulders, chest, and legs off the floor so that only your stomach is still on the floor. Try to pinch your shoulder blades together and hold that position for as long as possible--30 seconds to a minute for starters and work up from there. Do three sets three times a week with a day off in between.

Your arms should be out to your sides, with your palms facing downward.
