What kind of Indians fan are you?

By my watch it is just about 80 days until the indians start playing baseball games again. It seems like alot but half of those days will be spent in spring training. With baseball season just around the corner i thought it would be cool to discuss how we show our pride for the tribe. I challenge any of you to beat me. Here are my stats from the 2005 season:

I went down to 63 games w/o season tickets,

Went down to 29 striaght between July 21 and September 25,

Created the 'Indians Mobile' full of car magnets, pennants, pins, bobbleheads, pillows, bumper stickers, flags, and other various stuff. By the way I actually drive it as the Indians Mobile from April to September.

Countdown the seconds to opening day minutes after Grady Sizemore ended the 2005 season,

spent twice as much at the teamshop this year than i did on Christmas,

went to all but 3 promotinal days,

ate 8 hotdogs on dollar hot dog day,

Hate all sports teams in Cleveland other than the Indians.

Theres much more lets see what u guys have..........

I certainly don't have that much. I went to six Tribe games last year. Three here in Cincinnati, and three at the Jake. It's not always the easiest to get up there, especially with an infant. I did get the MLB.TV package, and caught sixty Tribe games on that.

My daughter has three Tribe onsies, and a Tribe windsuit. She also likes to sport her Chief Wahoo bottle, rattle, and pacifier. My office sports more than a few pieces of Tribe memorabilia, including a ball signed by the entire 1951 team.

Last, but certainly not least, I had my wedding reception at the Terrace Club at the Jake.

well i am not as big as you pronk48 but if i could go to as many games as you then i would but i am just 18 and work at mcdonalds so i dont have much money. i did go to 8 games last year and 1 pirates game. i have alot of memorabilia such as balls, cards, bobble head dolls and there are other things too. btw some of those balls and cards are signed. i have been to at least one indians game every year since 93'. but i have to say that i do like EVERY TEAM in the league. i pay attention to all of them and i have alot of other teams memorabilia. and believe it or not i have worn a twins Doug Mientkiewicz jersey to an indians twins game. but the indians are still my favorite team and i pull for them every year. but i LOVE my browns as far as the cavs go i can care less. i dislike basketball because there is NO defense.

From the time I got out of the Navy until moving to Alabama (1987 to 2003) I went to between 20 and forty Indians game each year. The last Indians game that I went to was opening day, 2003. When I was a kid, my dad took us to around ten games a year (1972 to around 1980). After the 1981 strike I didin't go to a game until 1984 when I was in San Diego and had returned from overseas.

I've never cared much about promtional days but I stuck with the Indians thru thick and (mostly) thin. I don't follow them very much right now. My inerest in the game on the field has been on the wane for about five years now.

hello

10 hats
17 shirts
3 jackets
4 banners
8 stickums
3 pins
1000's of baseball cards
listened to Ecks no hitter on the radio as a 9 year old
watched len barkers perfect game
Sad to see my favorite player Buddy Bell traded to the Rangers
Cried like a baby when Mesa blew the lead in 97'
Angry at my team because they seem to find a new way to let me down each year.
But still my greatest love in sports......I live by em and die by em.....every game......And I always will.

I hate to point this out because its way off topic but I was only ten when that happened and i had just fallen asleep in the top of the 11th. I woke up just as the Marlins were starting to celebrate and I dont think that there could be any more tramatic news for a ten year old boy. Im still not the same. GO TRIBE anyways

I took it a lot harder when the Indians lost in 1995 than when they lost in 1997.

I only made it to 4 games last year (being in high school, I can't exactly just head to the Jake on a whim ) I've got a large collection of Indians memorabilia: 3,230 baseball cards, two dozen or so autographed, a dozen bobbleheads, a jersey, and a couple shirts. And I always listen to every game on the radio and check the Tribe website daily.

Man I am the same exact way. Ill go to a game and then have to listen to the post game, check out the highlights online, and then read about the same game the first thing in the morning. Summer is fun and all w/o baseball but theres nothing like following your team. Especially the last two years for me and every other die hard. Its been great as the indians transisted themseleves from the doormat that they were in 03 to the contender that they are now. For those that believe and have always believed, theres a certain vindication that comes from remembering three years ago we debated how long it would be until the indians would win 90 games again. We debated who are power hitter would be, who are catcher would be, how good would the offense be, and could Shapiro really make a winning club in half a decade by using trade and bargin basement deals. Im not saying hes totally proved himself because we have yet to go to the playoffs but I say hes proved that these guys could be contenders and now we wait for the next step........

I can relate. I'm sure I spend way too much work time on indians.com (not to mention BBF), and when the sun goes down, I can get Tommy H on WTAM just fine down here. Between that and the MLB.TV package, I do pretty well.

I'm pretty sure I've caught at least one baseball at Muni/Jake every year since 1980

I don't think it was in this thread, but someone mentioned clubhouse chemistry. Not only is Crisp better than anyone else they'd play, he's a huge part of team spirit. That's one of the reasons the club made 93 wins. You rip the heart out of a team, you'd be angry too!

Once again Boof, I totally agree with you. These things can't be overestimated.
