400HR in ten years. Name us.
There are eight players who hit 400 or more home runs in a ten year period. Name them.

Yep. You got 'em. The peak ten years are:
95 to 04: Sosa - 479 20 to 29: Ruth - 467 95 to 04: Bonds - 444 96 to 05: ARod - 424 30 to 39: Foxx - 415 90 to 99: McGwire - 405 61 to 70: Killebrew - 403 92 to 01: Griffey - 400 Okay, part two. Without looking, who has the best shot at joining this group in 2006? |

Probably not Ken Caminiti or Bobby Bonds.

2006: Manny48 --- Thome63 --- Raffy64 --- Carlos68 2007: Manny37 --- Carlos49 --- Raffy51 --- Thome52 --- Vlad54 2008: Manny40 --- Thome44 --- Carlos45 --- Vlad48 --- Andruw51 --- Sheff51 So he’s the most likely in each of the next three years. Much further than that, and it's too much conjecture. Nevertheless, Manny still has the best start of those who could reach the plateau in 2009, if he hasn’t already: 2009: Manny41 --- Thome41.5 --- Andruw45 --- Carlos45 --- Vlad47 Of course age is a big factor in this picture. Manny and Carlos are 33, Thome is 35, Sheffield is 37, and Raffy is 41 (uggh). Vladimir is only 29 and Andruw is only 28. So the most LIKELY to be NEXT is Ramirez. Then maybe Thome and Delgado. And with Guerrero, and Jones… anything’s possible. |

a more exclusive club than 400HRs in 10 years is the 10 HRs in 400 years club, which only has Julio Franco.

I think I'll start naming some of my famous recipes after ball players and posting them, framed, on the walls of my kitchen. I'll post the collection here as I develop it. Maybe we even get a Baseball Fever Cook Book going with recipe contributions from everybody. With proceeds going to the Pittsburgh Pirates. |

There are only two forms of a perfecto in baseball. 1) You throw 27 pitches and get 27 outs or 2) You throw 81 pitches and get 81 whiffs from the 27 batters. And that's it. But more importantly, I'm working on a tribute recipe to Julio, based on mordeci's research. It's a combination of my famous baked bean recipe and some old world sausage that I get from the old country. This one will be called Julio Beans and Francos and will be a great hit at any tail gate party. Goes great with cornbread, too. Great question. Last edited by KingSwisher; 01-12-2006 at 12:58 PM. |

Here's one that I've been working on for the last couple of days. I'll be trying it out at a big NFL play-off gig I'm having at Mi Casa Kitchiola this week end. It's called Chili Davis Vera Cruz
It is a spicy mix of buffalo meat and ground venison, simmered for four hours in a bath of sweet and pungent herbs and vegetables. I'll let you know how it turns out. |
