are you okay with the renovations to Wrigley Field?

Wrigley Field is being renovated right now. Take a look at this link,

http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/m...=.jsp&c_id=chc

Are you okay with the renovations?

Thumbs up wrigley field

I have nothing against the renovations at wrigley as long as the cubs stay there instead of building a new ballpark.look at the renovations that happened at fenway park. again as long as the red sox stay at fenway park i have no problem with it. I would not want to see the cubs tear down a classic ballpark like what happened in 1991 when the white sox opened there new antispeptic toilet bowl and tore down old comiskey park.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NOOOOOO!!!!!! I don't like the renovations. I can understand the elevater ofr wheelchairs and improved restromms but I dont want any changes to the outside of Wrigley. They should just keep it as it is.

It's ok with me. Wrigley needs more entrance and exit areas, it is a pain in the butt to get out of after a game. Can't blame them for adding a few more seats. Doesn't look like they are planning any great changes on the outside, just that new building next door.

Would you rather see the cubs tear down wrigley field and build a dump like the chicago white sox did in 1991.let them ad seats and renovate.

I want to see Wrigly renovated by improving bathrooms and exits and also making sure that they make sure it is not practically falling down. I definetly dont want to see them add seats with can change how the stadium looks and feels dramatically.

Wrigley and Fenway should either get MAJOR renovations or a new stadium...
I mean, they got the money!! Why don't you build it. Since every other team has new stadiums with these retractable roofs, nice seats and downtown locations.........

Does the world "history" have any meaning to you? Apprently your not from new england, but i am, and the people love fenway and would rather pay extra to get in then go to some stadium that looks like every other one in the majors. The first time i walked into fenway was one of the greatest moments in my life. The history of fenway, such as the green monster and the signatures that line the insides of it, greats like babe ruth, ted williams, carlton fisk, and wade boggs all called this place home at one time, and dont even get me started about Wrigley.

Because newer does not equal better.

I am in favor of structural upgrades to Wrigley and I'm certainly for the addition of seats, since it's one of the smaller parks in terms of seating. As long as those upgrades don't detract from the feel of living history when you walk into the stands.

exactly, same for fenway, like the green monster seats were perfect, and hopefully the other renavations behind home plate going on right now wont ruin the feel.

You can only renovate so much, fix things for so long before you have to move. Regardless of the history, moving is an option that has to be chosen at some point.

Well efin98 i see things will never change with you.you are not a fan of the classic ballparks to suggest demolition.everyone has there right to there own opinion even if its the wrong suggestion. and you opinion like always is the wrong opinion.the cubs and red sox are doing the right thing by renovating and adding seats to fenway and wrigley.

As long as they don't radically alter the look of it, I think it's fine. I also don't understand people who are in favor of tearing down Wrigley and/or Fenway. These places are a reassuring sense of continuity that the game doesn't really have anymore, but, ironically, is one of the major facets of its appeal. Wider concourses and a few more bathrooms don't matter to folks who actually watch the game when they're in these parks. Put your scorecard in your lap and your drink at your feet and watch a game being played in these museums. Are they going to replace the Sistine Chapel for more bathrooms and wider walkways?

Actually, it does matter to the folks who attend the games. The vast majority of people in fact.

The Sistine Chapel isn't a ballpark. And it was done before, it'll happen again.

The Chrysler and Empire State Buildings are probably in need of being demolished and replaced too. Oh, and I'm sure we can build a bigger and better Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge with more lanes.

the changes seem to be for better crowd access, crowd control, and revenue, only. the brick will still be there poking out from behind the ivy. the fans'll still be returning the opposition's home runs.
i expect that by mid-season, no one will even be talking about it.

Christ, I love the place as much as the next guy, but it can't stay the same forever. Hell, if you could never change it, the bleacher would have never been added in the first place.
