Picture from 1943-1948,need identify players

Hi there!

Anyone know how I can identify a picture of some Cleveland Indian players and my aunt? It is 3 players, my aunt and her friend. It was taken in Cleveland.

We sent it to the Indians in 2002 and they said they could only Indentify Pat Seerey who was a player from 1943-1948. One player has a number at the bottom of his jacket that is a 12. There were 5 players on the team between that time.

If I scan the picture, would that help ??? Any ideas ??? thanks !!! Missy

Ok here is the picture! I came up with some players that had the number 12 during that time. See the number 12 on the bottom zipper area of the jacket on the man in the middle.
1943-1944 Vern Kennedy 37 yrs old in 1944.
1945 Red Steiner 30 yrs old in 1945
1946 Sherm Lollar 22 yrs old in 1946
1947 Al Lopez 39 yrs old in 1947
1948 Joe Tipton 26 yrs old in 1948

I am thinking maybe Kennedy or Steiner, but we do not know when it was taken. We only know Aunt was in military and thinking it must of been right after the war was ending.

(We sent it to the Indians in 2002 and they said they could only Indentify Pat Seerey *far right* who was a player from 1943-1948.)

I will link the picture, I have it up in a big file so we can see detail.

Picture

Any help is appreciated. THANKS !!!!!!!!

Sending the pic to a friend of my fathers who was an Indians fanatic in the 1940s... you can eliminate anything after 1945 as the uniform changed after that year.

Its 1943, 1944, or 1945. I'll let you know what he comes up with.

By process of elimination, Red Steiner only played 12 games for the Indians... The guy LOOKS like Vern Kennedy although that dimple is throwing me off.

Its one of the two but there's like no photographic evidence of Red Steiner and since he was with the team for such a short duration I would really doubt it. The guy does look like Vern Kennedy, plus 9 years from the last picture I saw of him...

That's why I'm saying that 98% sure its Kennedy. Reasons as follows:

1. Must have been 1943, 1944 or 1945 due to the uniform

2. Steiner only played 12 games. I dont know how likely it was that he'd even have an embroidered jacket.

3. The guy LOOKS like Kennedy, but the only picture I have of Kennedy is from 7 years earlier and he looks significantly less weathered. Of course, this can be easily explained away through the years in the sun.

Hello heyyou.

Unfortunately, the links you posted don't seem to go to any baseball pictures anymore. Both people who replied don't post here anymore.

Perhaps you could relink it.
