Look at Clay Buchholz and Joba Chamberlain. Wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens with Lincecum.
When did Buchholz and Chamberlain completely dominate for two seasons or win a Cy Young Award and maybe a second? Did the league "figure out" Pedro Martinez, Roger Clemens or Randy Johnson?

.
Using this logic, who are the players that do dominate consistantly (assuming you admit that there are some that do)? Non-rising stars? Of course you did say "seem", which allows for a little leway.

And you can bet your money on people figuring out Licecum, but I don't think I would take that bet.

Yeah, it's not as if Lincecum is some junker baller who lives by painting the corners. All the hitters know what is coming from Lincecum. But his changeup and fastball are so nasty they simply cannot hit it consistently.

Also remember that signing 16 & 17 year olds is routine in the International market, especially in the Dominican Republic & Venezuela.

We've already got Scott Boras on speed dial.
