Oh right, because your post was full of insight. Do you even know what message board you're on? This is the place where every single Citi Field blueprint and corridor was painstakingly photographed from the second a shovel went into the ground to completion and posted in high resolution over thousands of posts. Saying that video would endanger us is baseless fear mongering. The stills are just as "dangerous" and are completely permitted. There's no reason to ban video cameras except that the Mets don't want competition for their DVDs

Thats exactly right, thats the reason they try to keep video cameras out of most places like stadiums, concerts, etc.

Your reply: the Mets "would be foolish to allow unrestricted photo and video documentation that could be used in the planning of further attacks against us." Gordon dismissed your response because "every single Citi Field blueprint and corridor was painstakingly photographed from the second a shovel went into the ground to completion" and many of those images are publicly available. Gordon's point was not that the images are publicly available on the Internet, but that they're publicly available, period. Gordon may be a "windbag," as you describe it... but it's my opinion that the wind he blows (so to speak) is not merely hot air. |

Got Paul McCartney's album Good Evening New York City. The two-disc set is fine, although the in-between song chatter is gone. Real bummer, haven't checked out the DVD portion yet.
Has some good interspersing of Citi and Shea 1965 images inside the fold of the CD case.

Speaking of shows, Springsteen's shows featuring full albums have been outstanding! Caught "BTR" here in Cleveland, downloaded "Wild and Innocent" and "The River" from MSG, "Darkness" and "USA" from the Spectrum. Sunday the tour ends in Buffalo with the only playing of "Greetings from Asbury Park." Kills me that I have to work that night.
I know, way, way off topic. Sorry. Plus, what the bleep's a "Speedball"? |

Found this on another board...looks like they're in the process of "Metsing" up the stairwells...
Really tacky (especially for a park like this) but if it's kept to the stairwells then who really cares? ![]() |

Well despite the lyrics talking about meeting a former baseball player in a bar, it's not a synonym for a fastball or a highball; it's a mix of heroin and cocaine.

Well thats the thing, if its just the stairwells its fine. Seeing how the park is already, I just really don't even see them doing it anywhere else. it would just be a complete clash from shiny painted walls to nice looking brick facade.

I was also disappointed that they took out McCartney's between-song chatter, especially since some of it was specifically relevant to the venue. I also didn't like that the crowd noise is practically non-existant during the songs, you only hear it in between the songs and during the "audience participation" bit in "Hey Jude," where Paul has the audience sing along on the "na-na na-na, Hey Jude" chorus. From a sound aspect, it had more of a "soundcheck" feel than a "live concert" feel. You'll enjoy the DVD portion. I've just skimmed through it, I haven't watched it straight through from start to finish, but there are some nice Citi Field shots in there - there are shots of the "Citi Field" sign in center field lit up, and I even noticed some wide shots where you can see the left field wall, including the retired numbers. The fourth disc, a DVD included in a package only available at Beast Buy, has Paul's appearance on top of the Late Show With David Letterman marquee - as such, it's irrelevant in the context of this thread, except to point out the irony that a nearby billboard for Yankee Stadium is prominently visible in the background of many wide shots. Also on the fourth disc is an 8-minute "documentary" of scenes shot by fans who were given "Flip" video cameras - worth watching maybe once every few years or so, but it's interesting to note that a couple of the fan shots were from McCartney's show at Fenway Park. The last item on the fourth disc is the complete, unedited performance of "I'm Down" from Citi Field. On the "actual" DVD, the one sold with the two audio CDs, the Citi Field performance of "I'm Down" is interspersed with footage of the Beatles' performance of the song at Shea Stadium - on this disc, you get the Citi Field performance by itself. Having attended all three shows (and photographed two of them), there was no way that I was not going to buy this. And in that context, it makes a good souvenir... although I wish they had left the between-song chatter on the audio CDs. (It's included on the DVD.) |
