I'm pretty sure if the Phils win the NLCS this year, it won't be in 5 games. Should be a titanic struggle between two very good teams. I would think Cole Hamels will face Billingsley in game one, although the Dodger's did start Randy Wolf against the Cards in game one of the division series. Gonna be a great series. LET'S GO PHILLIES!!!

I'm a Sox fan, but my cousin, Paul plays for your Phillies so I'm rooting for a repeat. Go Philly!

Wow, what a nail biter!!! It wasn't pretty, but we have a 1-0 lead in the NLCS. Cole was great for 5 innings and fell apart in the sixth. The BP was good except for Ryan Madson, and Lidge although hardly perfect got the job done to 3 for 3 in the post season. The offense was the real star of the show tonight with 3 run HR's from Carlos Ruiz and Raul Ibanez. Ryan Howard had a 2 run double to round out the scoring for the Phillies. This is going to be a great series. WAY TO GO PHILLIES!!

Final score:
Phillies 8 - Los Angeles 6

Tomorrow's starters:
Phillies: P. Martinez
Los Angeles: V. Padilla

I don't think the Dodgers want to get into this whole longball thing with the Fightin's.

Do you guys know the lineup for today? I'm wondering if my cousin will get in since they're facing a righty.

Unless Carlos Ruiz gets hurt, you won't see Paul until April.

Well the Phillies really uncorked the offense tonight and Cliff Lee was outstanding. Not much else to say. Lee goes 8 complete, giving up 3 hits, no runs and no walks. The offense was firing on all cylinders as everyone in the lineup contributed. Phillies will go into tomorrow's pivotal game 4 with a 2-1 series lead.

Final score:
Phillies 11 - Dodger's 0

Tomorrow's starters:
Dodger's: R. Wolf
Phillies: J. Blanton

Considering he's only stayed with one team(Cubs) for more than one season I'd say that's even less likely. lol Oh well at least I can say my cousin was on the roster. lol Go Phillies! :clapping

The TBS announcer just noted that the Dodgers score every time the Phillies make an error. That is what you are suppose to do in baseball, take advantage of mistakes. Assuming the Phillies are done making errors this evening, the Dodgers are done scoring at 4, and the Phillies offense has 12 outs to make up 2 runs. I like their chances.

Jimmy Freaking Rollins. Man do I love that little guy!! Phils are the kings of the ninth inning comeback in this year's playoffs. Once again they score 2 in the ninth to win it. This time it's Jimmy Rollins with a 2 run, 2 out triple to end it. This after Broxton walked Matt Stairs with one out, and then hit Ruiz. Dobbs lined out to Blake for the second out and then Jimmy stepped up to the plate and absolutely drove a pitch into the gap in right center to end it. Despite the layoff, Joe Blanton pitched a pretty good game tonight and the BP actually did a very nice job, including Ryan Madson and Brad Lidge. A very entertaining game, with a spectacular finish. Phils are one win away from going back to the World Series. Yanks lead the Angels 2-1.

Final score:
Phillies 5 - Dodger's 4

Wednesday's starters:
Dodger's: V. Padilla
Phillies: C. Hamels

This team is unbelievable. Everytime I think they are down and out, they do something like that. They did it aginst the rockies, and now they are doing it against the Dodgers. My outlook has totally changed. Ususlly Philly teams are always on the losing end of these heart-stopping games. Now, it seems like our fortunes have changed. Never count this team out!

Through 4 complete the Phillies lead the Dodger's 4-2. After giving up solo shots to Ethier (1st) and Loney (2nd), Cole has settled in nicely. Only problem is, is his pitch count is quite elevated.

Jayson Werth with a 3 run shot, and Pedro Feliz with a lead off solo shot have provided the offense.

I was a little bit too quick on the draw with my last post. It was only the bottom of the fourth. As it turns out the Phils would add 2 more in their half of the fourth. One on a double by Ibanez that would score Werth from first. Victorino would get hit by a pitch on a 3-2 count, with the bases loaded to score Ibanez. After 4 it's now 6-2 Phils.

After Hamels retires Blake to lead off the fifth, Orlando Hudson would hit the Dodger's third solo shot of the game. Rafael Furcal would hit a double and that would be it for Cole Hamels. JA Happ walked the first hitter he faced, and then got Ethier to fly out on a pitch he probably should have hit to New Jersey. Chad Durbin came in to face Manny and got him to ground out weakly to end the Dodger threat in the fifth.

Phils 6 - Dodger's 3 bottom 5.

Kershaw was mowing down the Phillies lineup, until the sixth. After retiring Ruiz and Cairo to lead off the inning, he hit J-Roll. Shane Victorino then crushed a pitch to deep left for a 2 run HR.

Phillies got themselves into all kinds of trouble in the eighth, as the Dodger's loaded the bases with no outs. Madson would retire the side after walking Manny and giving up a single to Kemp. Dodger's only score one and the Phils are three outs away.

After Ruiz and Stairs go down in order, Jimmy Rollins reaches on a base hit up the middle. He goes to third on Shane Victorinos double, and reaches home on a wild pitch. Three more outs and the Phils go back to the World Series.

Woohoo and there's my cousin getting put in a head lock by Pedro! :laugh

Now it's on to the World Series and what appears to be a likely matchup with my hated rivals the Yankees. Oh I can't wait! With the lefty starters you guys have I think there's a good chance you win back to back titles.
