Forgive me if this has been discussed already here, but...

Am I mistaken or will the 2010 season finally feature all ML ballparks with natural grass next year?

Dang. Well, here's to hoping the Jays do the right thing, but I'm sorry the Rays have no plans that we know of to get with the times.

Thanx much for the info. :cap:

The Jays could technically put grass in the Rogers Centre, but with CFL and concerts and also the Buffalo Bills playing a few games there, it seems like a long shot

The Rays on the other hand couldnt they dont have a retractable dome:shrug:

I think I read in another thread that the Rogers Centre turf will be replaced next year. That'd be great, the turf there looks horrible. And the Rays will remain with the fake stuff as long as they have the Trop, although at least they do their best to make it look like a ballpark in there

That's good to hear about the Blue Jays. Kudos to them if that's true.

As for the Rays -- though it's not really much consolation -- at very least, it's not the old-fashioned uniform-and-skin-tearing stuff the Majors used to use.

So, if Toronto does rightfully replace their turf, the Rays at Trop will be the only holdout. Seems like a sore thumb, if nothing else. Wonder why they don't have plans to renovate.

The Rays have done just about everything they can do with the Trop. It's as good of a baseball setup as they could do with the Trop. It already was designed with baseball sightlines (minus the high upper deck obstructed views) and the team has poured tons of money lately into new scoreboards and other renovations.

I think now that the Metrodome is on its way out that the two Florida ballparks are the two loudest stadiums in MLB come playoff time. The Rays in the Trop with their cowbells and 67,000 at the Dolph are as loud as it gets

i hope the blue jays get dirt basepaths, i hate the look of base cutouts. if not use dirt for it all, use brown turf to make it look like dirt. and open the roof more often, you have a retractable dome so you can have the roof open, not just be like "hey, cool it moves when no gams are here"
