The Astros have fired Cecil Cooper. And they should have, since it was his brilliant idea to bring in two sixty-year old starting pitchers in Hampton and Ortiz.

And, being the first team to fire their manager, they can be first in line to interview the other soon-to-be fired managers.

Darn, I was hoping he could throw Sammy Gervacio for the 20th day in a row. I wouldn't say that he mishandled pitchers, but geez, you have a ten man bullpen and the same three or four guys have to go out every night?
