So who should replace Wedge? Anyone come to mind that you would hire if you were in charge?

Is it his fault that the team stinks? What about ownership?

It is plain to see that the Tribe has packed it in for the year. That doesn't bode well for a manager who has already lost the confidence of the fans.

Listen. My father is almost 70 years and still waiting for the Indians to win a World Series. My father was 7 when the Indians last won. He has had enough. He is still pissed that Jim Thome is no longer an Indian.

CavIt's the manager's fault. I guess the players COULD play for the fans . . .
. . . OR to earn their paycheck

Not with this Tribe fan. I blame Dolan first, Shappy second, the players third, and Wedge last.
Wedge didn't trade Lee and CC. Wedge didn't hire a single one of these "talented" players. Wedge hasn't thrown one pitch nor taken one at-bat.
Dolan is making money from the team, his other businesses and revenue sharing, and putting that money into his pocket just as his nephew James is doing with the Knicks, and Dolan plans on keeping the team in his family when he retires.
Shappy has had some bad luck, but his poor picks obviously outweigh his good ones. Anymore, his best moves are no moves at all, it seems.
Wedge is what he has always been, a minor league manager. What makes this year different is that his minor league lineup isn't responding to him in September.

Can anyone compile a list of star players who were traded by the Indians since 1997?

Can anyone compile a list of star players who were traded by the Indians since 1997?It's not so much the trades but the free agents that brought nothing in trade. Depending upon whom you consider stars
Matt Williams
Brian Giles
Dave Justice
Roberto Alomar
Chuck Finley?
Brandon Phillips
Sabathia
Cliff Lee

What was the story with Manny, Thome and Colon?

Manny was offered a big contract by the Tribe, Boston offered what was essentially the same contract (overall), but with much more money upfront, Manny and his agent went with the Boston offer.
Thome wanted six years, the Tribe offered five at about the same rate, and he went to Philly with Cholly Manuel in tow.
Colon went to the Expos for Cliff Lee, Grady Sizemore and Brandon Phillips. You have to admit, that was a fair deal.
ol' aches and pains

Listen. My father passed away last year at age 92, and never saw his Cubs win a World Series. Cry me a freakin' river.

Charlie Manuel, that brings up another good point. Another manager, like Hargrove, who the tribe front office didnt think could cut the mustard anymore.
Gee, anyone have the stats handy of how ole Cholly has done since he left cleveland?
Fire Manuel...he sucks. and to replace him ....Eric Wedge.
Sometimes I wonder about the people making decisons like this.
What had hargrove done for the organization up until the point he was let go becuase he didnt know what he was doing anymore?
It's just aggrivating to sit back and see decisions like that made over and over and it turn to crap for the tribe but work out good for someone else (Manuel to Philly).
