Tonight, one of the announcers on espn mentioned that the Phillies are last in productive outs. Is this the result of a World Series champion false ego boost that is resulting in players thinking they are better than playing the game productively instead of sportscenter spectacularly?
I'm not a stat guy, but that stat concerned me a little bit this late in the season. However, overall, I do have a very positive feeling about the Phillies an d their repeat hopes. There are about 40 or so games left and Ryan Howard is carrying the team. The Phillies are poised to get out of their funks and roll into the post season on an upswing, and Ryan Howard has shown in previous years that he excells throughout the end of the season.
