The Giants 9th best prospect (baseball america) for Garko?
Any thoughts?
Cav
GArko is in his prime and should do something like 15 HR 70+ RBI in a full season......HIs lifetime avg is around .285

1) Garko was not a"Wedge kinda player" He is bright and a bit of a free- thinker. He also seems like he has a sense of humor and doesn't take life too seriously.
2) He was a player without a role. Was he a first baseman, an outfielder, a dh? He doesn't have any speed and the team has way too much invested in Hafner to cut him loose, so they did the best they could. I wish thy'd have gotten more too!
I'm glad to see him back home. He's a good guy, a decent hitter and it was nice to think that between him and Victor, I knew I could outrun major leaguers!

Garko's numbers against lefties are very good (.904 OPS). The Giants gave up more for Freddy Sanchez than for Garko, but the Tribe is apparently not asking for much anymore.
