I'm want to start my just-turned 14yo and his 12yo brother on a medicine ball
routine. I have found lots of exercises online, but would like to find out from some baseball people which are good specifically for the sport.
My question then, is what med-ball exercises have you used or seen used with good results? I want to make sure I do no harm, esp. to the arm and shoulder.

My son is also 14. What weight medicine ball would be good to start out with? I see there are all different weights that you can get.

it's about the movement and mimicking the movement as best as possible. Also doing it as fast as possible. Lighter is better. The Texas Rangers do their workout with 6lb medicine balls. If I were you I'd pick up a 4 pounder for your son unless he is a very big kid.
