Another great event..(even without Tazawa)...

The event, as always, is top notch...early bad weather kept the crowd down...so perhaps 200 fans...we could have actually taken about 600 items and gotten them all signed...but settled for about 300.

The highlites for me was talking with Tommy Hottovy and telling him how much I admired him for being out of baseball for a 1 1/2 and coming back. He stated that he loves what he is doing.

All the players being very approachable and courteous.

A 20 minute talk with Sea Dogs hitting coach Dave Joppie. He is very intriging...it was one of those times where he would answer a question and then there would be a obvious "next question" and on and on. You could tell we was proud of his players working hard and getting better. He was delighted to see Aaron Bates being called up to Boston (and hitting) as he has been working with Bates for almost three years.

Mike Cather and Mgr Arnie Beyeler were great and funny.

Here are photos of either new comers or players that we hadn't gotten from previous events...

Very cool. The Sea Dogs card sets I ordered arrived today, and I plan on using a bunch of them for TTM purposes. It looks like a bunch of the Sea Dogs are good signers.

At these events...breakfast/dinners and on the field autographs times...they all sign...I have gone to events where If I had another person (too make 4) 1000 items is not out of the question. I have seen friends, with the help of friends get 1500-1600 items...even with hard to get Tazawa...

There is another event in late July and perhaps another in Aug...

Sounds like you had a great time. I am envious of the opportunities that you get with the Sea Dogs. I wish my local Minor League teams would do things such as this.

Write them a letter and tell them that that would sway you towards season tickets....they all listen to $. But in all seriousness...I can't see why they don't do things like that...
