Did anybody watch this? I couldn't believe what I was seeing. We've just seen a historic moment in Rivera's career. After more than 14 years in the majors, Rivera collected his first RBI on June 28th, 2009, by drawing a bases loaded walk to make the score 4-2 in the top of the ninth against the Mets. A truly horrible pitching job by K-Rod.

Good night for Mo. K-rod had a major brain cramp. He might have been better off firing three fastballs down the middle and taking his chances.

That was one of the most amusing AL pitcher batting moments ever. Almost as good as Felix Hernandez hitting a grand slam off Johan Santana last year. It's funny that was his second plate appearance this week after not having any in years.

Great night for Mariano. First career RBI and 500th save.

Maybe this will quiet the deluded Mets fans who think K-Rod is better now in 2009. Not only did the 39 year old out pitch him, he got an RBI off him.

His swing really impressed me, especially since he only has 6 ABs in 15 years (including the World Series).

Another plus for Mariano's record book but I am not sure it will have the NL managers grabbing for their cheque books for his batting ability . A great effort for his 500th save in a stellar career on the mound.
