The first person to reply to this thread with the correct player wins an autographed card of that player.

Despite going 33-6 in his high school career, this player was drafted by the Twins as a shortstop. On June 2, he lead his team to a victory with a bottom of the 9th two-out, two-run walkoff HR.

Maybe its me...I don't see a walk off 9th inning HR on June 2, 2009 in the ML's

Same here. Nobody hit a walkoff homerun that day according to Retrosheet.

I thought of that too, but Jorge Posada wasn't drafted by the Twins.

I thought late June 1st...but no one there...and only a 9 inning game...not extra innings...

Wait, I know...it's Aaron Hicks. The 14th pick of the 2008 draft, Hicks was highly touted as a pitcher AND a shortstop coming out of high school, but the Twins drafted him as neither, using him instead as a right fielder.

I take back my last answer. Can't be Hicks. He doesn't have a single homerun this season.

big winner! I was at that game, and it was an incredibly exciting baseball moment, especially since going into the 8th inning, it was 4-1 in favor of the Gwinnett Braves. Here's the article: http://tinyurl.com/nad3cp

pm me your address and I'll have the card out on monday.
