A lot of people dig the Heritage or Goudey, but after cracking a box of O-Pee-Chee, neither compare.

At 65 Dollars CDN per Box, or 50? American -- There's only a hit guaranteed per 2 or 3 boxes, but the cards themselves are beautiful and perfect for TTM.

It's a massive 600 Card set, and basically -- if you do TTM, you want these cards. They use all the Getty Stock photos, and for a "Heritage" brand, these are the nicest photographs put on baseball cards this year...any set.

Anyways, I beat the odds and managed to pull 1 Standard GU with Kinsler, Millwood and Young Jerseys.. and continuing the Upper Deck Streak -- The card was all screwed up (it appears as though the saw was dirty, or something)

Thanks for sharing. I was wondering how these were going to turn out to be for TTM use. I'll have to get some.

Considering they're about 10 dollars CDN cheaper than Topps series 1, and 20 dollars cheaper than UD -- You really can't go wrong.

I pulled some dupes, so if you're a Yadier Molina fan -- boy, are you in luck.

The amount of inserts, and the black parallel per pack are pretty gosh darn neat.

I just realized that Kevin Millwood is wearing an INDIANS HAT.

Kevin spent 1 year in Cleveland, way back in 2005 -- it appears as though the geniuses at Upper Deck are working hard as always.

Seriously....2005?

Thanks for that info. Now I know I'm really not going to buy a box. Those are some ugly looking cards. I'd rather stick with Goudey and SP.:atthepc

Hrm, not even for half of the price?

I think *this* Longoria looks spectacular.

I think i'd rather have 36 Packs of 6 Cards (216 total) at 64.99 CDN than 18 packs of 8 ( 144 total) at 129.99 CDN.

More Cards, Half the Price!

Sure Goudey has a guaranteed Auto and GU per box, but Upper Deck has stuffed their products with the worst autographs ever this year. I guess the Jordan's and Tiger's make up for the Francisco Cervelli's and Matt Tuiassosopo's that are all over this product.

I loved the 1979-80 hockey set.

Thanks for posting pictures. I don't love the design, but I'm thrilled to see a low priced, TTM friendly set out there. I'm sure I'll grab some packs when I see them.

With the bigger checklist, I'm interested to see who's in the set that isn't in most of the smaller TTM friendly sets.

Any checklists yet?

I think the best card out there for TTM is allen and ginter

I agree, with Goudey in 2nd, and Topps Heritage in 3rd. I used to like Bowman Heritage when they made that, too.

The problem with most of those sets were the small checklists, so there weren't that many cards of guys who signed. This set is 600 cards, so it should include some nice TTM options not in the other sets.

I need one of the Schafers from that set...

I am pretty sure I pulled a dupe of Schafer (in white,) if you want to pay for shipping, or trade let me know. I'll double check...

The Checklists are on the reverse of the Stadium Cards, which are pretty nice. I can scan the checklists I have, if there's interest but your best bet is probably checking the UD site.

ok cool! UD had the CL on their site. Turns out my Favorite player has an autograph in the set!

Autographs fall 1 per 106? packs! A Box contains 36 packs.. GU Fall around the same rate.

I was going to scan the images last night but somehow left the box of OPC at home.

By the way, I opened a bit more yesterday and pulled a 1971 Joe Torre OPC Buy-Back! It's a nice touch, considering it probably didn't cost UD that much. I doubt they put the Clemente Rookie and other big cards in there, but I'll take the Joe Torres and Lou Piniellas of the world.

Yes, I know the border around the base cards isn't exactly sexy but you can't go wrong with the picture taking up 98 percent of the card. As I mentioned before, the photography in this set is the best of the year. In some spots it's better than the stuff Topps Stadium Club puts out.

As I'm sure you know, I'm not an Upper Deck fan, but when you consider price and sheer enjoyment -- This is the card of the year.

I was shocked at how nice this OPC set was from what topherkris scanned. I went and bought a retail blaster box thinking "I'm shocked Topps produced something this nice! These are awesome". Then I remembered that OPC was now an Upper Deck brand. *sigh* Honestly, these have a lot great shots of the players' faces and due to the heavier cardboard stock seem perfect for autographs. When I can afford it, I'm definitely going to try to pick up a hobby box or three of these.

Hey i was wondering if you pulled any dupes of Everth Cabrera (Padres), Ryan Braun (Brewers)or Michael Bowden (Red Sox).

Sure I will trade for the Schafer (RC) and then any big name RC dupes you have... I am not sure of the lineup of this set but Gamel, Snider, Price, Daniel Murphy, Porcello, and Braves players such as Kenshin Kawakami all interest me

Let me know and thanks

I collect Snider, so he's staying put -- I think i've got one more box in me before I resort to ebay, but while organizing this I realized the Hockey Card Insert Set that contains the Longoria that I posted is numbered to at least 33!

I've bought about 80-90 packs and I've pulled 3. I think they fall one per Hobby Box!

This seems like it might be a bit troublesome to complete.

My wife picked me up a retail pack of O-Pee-Chee yesterday at Target. They're pretty nice looking, and great for TTM. I like the simple, clean design.

It was also pretty sweet that the wife brought me home a little present. She was like "I hadn't seen these before, so I figured you'd want a pack." She did this while grocery shopping. While I slept in. Then she made breakfast!!

What a gal!

I'm surprised they even come in retail packs. Retail makes sense when you're looking at 99 bucks for a box with a couple hits, but what's the point of making a retail version of a 45 Dollar Box? Instead of 1 GU every 100 packs, do they just double the odds?

Anyways, I'd be interested to know how much a retail pack costs? 79 cents american?

I think she said it was $1.59 or $1.49 per pack. I didn't check the odds, but it looks like they'll have blaster boxes, since my pack had a coupon for $2 off a blaster. I may pick one up at some point.

I just bought a ton of these cards. The packs are really cheap. If anyone is looking for any players or looking to build a set, let me know.

I'm definitely willing to trade some of these away for very little. Maybe you mail me 1 or 2 cards and I mail you about 20 or 30 of these. It's not that I don't like them, I just don't need to collect a 600 card set.

No. There isn't enough to mess up an auto. I just couldn't reply with just no.

...and love them! I have really grown tired of the over glossy stuff, and these look, feel, and smell like real baseball cards, minus the wax and gum!! I only occassionally do TTM, but these would be perfect. I got mine @ Walmart, a 24 pack for 5 bucks. Not super cheap, but nice. Walmart blaster boxes (is that what they're called?) 15 packs to a box for 20, and the boxes have cards printed ON the box, too. One had Hadley Ramirez and jeter, one had Utley and someone else. Loved the old school style and look. Great photos. a solid A-.

I have not sent in for any TTM autographs since I was much younger, it sounds like fun and maybe this year I will try some again.
