was a sandlot team in NY. The second baseman made it to the majors and played several years before dying in the middle of a season. The catcher on the Nut Club also entertained thoughts of a major league career, but he was just too good of a dancer (said to be better than B Burgess even!!)and he became a household name. Name this Irish major leaguer and the red headed half Norwegian dancer.

:waving Hats off to RMB. James Cagney and Cornelius Finn.

Now, I have a question in regards to this. In Cagney's authorized biography, he talks in detail of teammate Finn with his pretty Irish face and his boxing prowess. It also notes that another teammate named George Deportas remained a life long friend of Cagneys and he starred at second base for the Boston Red Sox. I can't find any reference to such a guy???? Did he play under another name? Did Cagney pull a fast one on the author?
