So incase some of you don't know, Padres SS Josh Wilson pitched in the 18th inning in a 6-6 game, giving up 3 runs and taking the loss against Arizona 9-6.

My question is, when was the last time a position player was credited with a win or a loss? I can't remember it happening in the modern era.

It's not quite that rare. Among others, Jamie Burke got a loss in 2008, and Brent Mayne got a win in 2000.

Technically speaking, a "position player" can never be credited with a win, loss, save, or any other pitching statistic.
