And Rossford is located in Northwest Ohio, just north of where the Ohio Turnpike and Interstate 75 intersect.

Candy LaChance. Member of the 1901 Cleveland Blues. Played 3B and batted a very respectable .303.

I know it may be a technicality, but does he qualify as an "Indian"? Just wondering.....:hide:

That uniform was from several years before Kuiper arrived. It looks like the uniform of the ill-fated 1971 Indians. I think it may be either Ted Uhelander or Gomer Hodge.

Eyeshade
09-15-2009, 06:11 AM
On the right track, year -wise. Not Uhlander or Gomer, but I was a member of "Gomer's Gang" which was started by, I think, Bob Sudyk of the Press back in the day. Gomer- 4 for 4 and "batting 4 thousand".

Iron Jaw
09-17-2009, 02:45 PM
Definitely Tony Horton.

Had four solid seasons with the Indians from 1967-70, before a psycological illness ended his career. Strange case - a rising young star retired before his 26th birthday. He recovered from the problems, but never returned to baseball.

He resembles a young Woodie Held in that particular photo.
