I had pre-ordered a single box of Upper Deck Series 2 baseball cards from Ebay. It was a box of 16 packs of 20 cards per pack. I think I got an insane box.
It came in, and everything was fine, nice shrink-wrapped sealed box.
On the box, was printed 2 MEMORABILIA CARDS AND ONE AUTOGRAPHED CARD PER BOX ON AVERAGE. I expected to get about 3 special cards.
Well, I got 16 special cards, one in every single pack in the box. I got 14 cards with autographs on them (and 2 of them had a jersey also on the same card) and 2 jersey cards. Is this right, or did Upper Deck make a mistake with this box?
Here is what I got in the one 16-pack box:
INKREDIBLE autographed Mile Pelfrey (Mets)
INKREDIBLE autographed Joe Smith (Mets)
INKREDIBLE autographed Eider Torres (White Sox)
INKREDIBLE autographed Kevin Slowey (Twins)
INKREDIBLE autographed Mike Parisi (Cardinals)
INDREDIBLE autographed Glen Perkins (Twins)
USA BASEBALL autographed Tyler Lyons
USA BASEBALL autographed Andrew Oliver
USA BASEBALL autographed Ryan Jackson
USA BASEBALL autographed Derek Dietrich
USA BASEBALL autographed Hunter Morris
USA BASEBALL autographed Kendal Volz
USA BASEBALL GAME JERSEY AUTOGRAPHED Micah Gibbs
USA BASEBALL GAME JERSEY AUTOGRAPHED Christian Colon
USA BASEBALL GAME JERSEY Andrew Oliver
UD GAME MATERIALS JERSEY Lastings Milledge
The Lastings Milledge card is interesting too, in that it says he is on the Washington Nationals but the picture has him in his Mets uniform and the jersey is definetely a Mets jersey, you can see the edge of the stripe on it.
Thats it - all those cards in ONE 16-PACK box! Am I right that this was an insane box or is this what Upper Deck is doing? Anyone else have this happen to them?
Normally I not a big fan of inserts, but this was really neat, and with so many young guys, you never know down the road who might become a star.
Anyway, it was one great experience!
