which pitcher had the most wins versus one team?

the info I found only goes back to 1953 and that highest total I found I believe was Carlton with 40 wins against the Cubs.

I would assume it would be either Walter Johnson or Christy Mathewson because they played in the same league their entire career while Cy Young played half his career in the NL and half in the AL.

Sphan has 34 wins against the Reds and Giants from '54-65. If you include info from his first 9 seasons he's almost certainly got a bunch of 50+ wins.
But yea, almost certainly its one of the 350 win guys from the early days since they have the huge number of wins and played in leagues half the size they are now.

In only eight years of splits, Walter beat the A's twenty-three times

Walter Johnson won 417 games against AL opponents when there were only 8 teams in the league. That means he beat the other 7 teams an average of 59.7 times each.

Out of 29 games started against my Reds, Oswalt is 23-1. I hate him...just kidding.
