Congrats to Jim Thome, in the 3rd inning last night he hit HR#549, to pass Mike Schmidt for 13th place all time. He's also closing in on Stan Musial for 12th place in bases on balls, as he walks/trots on his way to Cooperstown. Just don't ask him to run.

It will be interesting to see how Thome is treated by the boys in the BBWAA. They haven't exactly showered him with love in the MVP voting.

He has to be one of the most underrated superstars ever. I've never seen anyone climb up the all-time lists and yet sneak under the radar as much as Thome has over his career.

With his numbers and a clean (so far) rap sheet, I don't know how they can justify keeping him out.

Used to love the Thomenator when he was with the Tribe in their heydey. There is no way he will be left out of the Hall. I see him as sure first ballot. 600 homers and no steroid allegations.

Just keep on thumping that ball, Jim. Let's see how all the "Black inkers" and "Gray inkers" can honestly make the case against you for Cooperstown when all is said and done. :applaud:
