I thought it might be fun to have a thread where we can post obscure little facts others might not know about players.
For instance, as a boy Ty Cobb owned a basset hound. In his autobiography, Cobb refers to his boyhood dog, Ol' Bob, as a "bench-legged hunting hound." Bassets were once referred to as "bench-legged." In other words, the irascible Ty Cobb had a Hush Puppy!
And Christy Mathewson batted cross-handed when he first entered pro ball.
